Firma Lezyne została założona w 2007 roku, przez Micki Kozuschek - ikonę przemysłu oraz innych partnerów branżowych.
Kozuschek - były zawodowy triathlonista pochodzi z Niemiec. U szczytu swojej kariery Micki rozpoczął przygodę z Maxcycles i wniósł na rynek niemiecki niedrogie, wysokiej jakości rowery i odzież.

Wkrótce po przeprowadzce do USA, Kozuschek założył firmę Truvativ, która wzrastała, aby w końcu stać się wiodącym producentem części zamiennych i komponentów rowerowych.
W 2004 Kozuschek sprzedał markę Truvativ do SRAM i rozpoczął dwuletnią przerwę w branży rowerowej, aby wybudować swój wymarzony dom i spędzać czas z rodziną.

Następnie w 2007 roku, Kozuschek powrócił do branży rowerowej z Lezyne - Engineered Design.
W czasach, gdy standardem stały się tanie wyroby z tworzyw sztucznych, które nie działały, Lezyne określiło sobie nowy cel - projektowanie i tworzenie akcesoriów doskonałej jakości, spełniających te same wysokie standardy, jak wysokiej klasy części rowerowe.
