Pomysłodawcą i założycielem marki rowerowej CUBE jest Marcus Pürner. Już w okresie swoich studiów marzył o byciu wielkim producentem rowerów. Swoją pasję do dwóch kółek, a szczególnie do ich ujeżdżania, odkrył będąc nastolatkiem. Wtedy ścigał się z rówieśnikami oraz z samym sobą. Dzisiaj, w każdą podróż zabiera ze sobą rower. Pomocną dłoń w założeniu rowerowego przedsiębiorstwa wyciągnął do Marcusa tato, który sam zajmuje się produkcją mebli biurowych, a przede wszystkim - foteli. Na początek tato wydzielił Marcusowi powierzchnię 15m2 swojego przedsiębiorstwa, gdzie stworzono biuro projektowe, linię produkcyjną oraz magazyn jednocześnie.

Od 1993 roku, w Niemczech, w południowej Bawarii, w Waldershofie rowery tworzone są w tym samym miejscu. Zmieniło się to, że całkowita powierzchnia przeznaczona do stworzenia gotowego roweru, zaczynając od pomysłu, zajmuje ok. 20 tysięcy m2. Jak tylko każdy z ponad 150 modeli rowerów przejdzie pomyślnie wszystkie etapy produkcji, trafia do sprzedaży do ponad 2 tysięcy punktów handlowych w Europie, kilkuset w Ameryce Południowej, Azji oraz Australii.
